I generally like fandom but sometimes as a collective it is so bigoted and misogynistic that I haveto shake my head and wonder how at any point certain attitudes have been able to survive and prosper in this day and age. I wonder how the majority of fandom can observe these attitudes and think, “This is a perfectly acceptable and not at all harmful view of the world” when most of the time it isn’t and it just makes me sad and frustrated. I am not saying that I am above this or that I have never participated in this kind of attitude but we should all work to be better than that because fandom attitudes reflect societal ones
